If your teen is serious about dance—whether they're considering a college dance program or simply want to expand their artistic horizons—modern dance is essential. In fact, modern technique is the fastest-growing genre in the dance industry today, and colleges expect it.

At Stagemakers, our modern dance program is designed for dancers ages 12 and up who have extensive training in classical ballet. We understand that modern dance requires a different approach, different techniques, and a different mindset than ballet. That's why our curriculum is based on collegiate dance department standards and incorporates multiple respected techniques: Merce Cunningham, Lester Horton, and Martha Graham.

But modern dance at Stagemakers isn't just about technique. We also include Dance Education as part of our program, where students explore topics like nutrition, injury prevention, professional practices, history of dance, and audition techniques. We're preparing your student not just to dance, but to thrive in the professional dance world.

Our instructors are experienced educators who have trained dancers who've gone on to college programs and professional careers. They understand what it takes to succeed at the highest levels. They'll challenge your student, support them, and help them develop the artistry and technique that sets them apart.

Modern dance at Stagemakers is rigorous, rewarding, and transformative. You know your teen has options. But we're confident that we can provide the highest level of modern dance instruction and the most comprehensive preparation for their future in dance.

Is your teen ready to take their dance training to the next level? Let's talk about modern dance at Stagemakers.
